Thanks for sharing your opinion. I agree with you. Solitude is for re-energizing and aligning our spirit so that we listen better to God.

One should not delude himself in solitude. Nice to see your comment on my site whether it is the Alan I know or a different Alan :) - Nuren ...

Emerson's thoughts on solitude

"It is easy in the world to live after the world's opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson, "Self-Reliance"

I think what Emerson means is that it is hard to be true to ourselves when we are pushed and pulled by the influences of those around us. We don't want to disappoint others, and we are afraid of their disapproval. But when we accept the unconditional love and acceptance of God, the opinions of other people become less important, and we are able to be more authentic.

Hello Kannan bhai,
Thanks for sharing your comments. Yes, I completely agree with you.

For the second point you suggested, I think we also can focus on our relationship with God while spending time in solitude.

Best wishes,

Very good article Nuren. Most people look for comfort outside. They try to spend more time with friends and people they know. But their troubles remain when they return home. There are 3 things I can think of which might help in times of trouble:
1. Take action to eliminate or minimize troubling situation.
2. Reflect on inner self - i.e. solitude
3. Try to help others in their areas of need, and we find our troubles becoming smaller !!
Great article & topic... Keep it up Nuren !!

With Love,
