Yes buddy. It is a very good article. I knew :)
I think the Kingdom of God has already taken its seeds with the arrival of Jesus. It is already here NOW and also in us. When we do good things with pure hearts as Jesus taught, the Kingdom of God is manifested here. But a time is coming that the Kingdom will be fully manifested. That could be with the second coming of Christ.

Why God is waiting to establish the Kingdom of God? I think it is because He is waiting for some bad people to repent. Not everyone who is doing bad are REALLY bad, but they do out of their ignorance. This is explained by Jesus in parables. Do a quick search on Matthew 13:24-30 and Matthew 13:36-43.

Then, what about pain and suffering? I think the physical death that people experience is not the end. All the good people will be in the Kingdom of God. You may be there too, though you say you are an atheist :) - Nuren ...

Nuren, as usual you wrote a very good article.
May be we atheists can forgive god for what he has done to this world.
Kingdom of god? Why is he waiting?? Establish already!
May be the world should know about us..that..atheists and theists could be very good friends..

I used the word "weapon" because to give an idea that forgiveness and mercy are not passive forces, but active ones. I too don't think the act of forgiveness should be a secret weapon, because doing so can harm us and do good to nobody. Sometimes, it is necessary to keep it a secret when we are not sure of how to react in a situation. I read somewhere that forgiveness is a selfish act too. Because, we forgive so that we feel better about it. However, it should not be that way always.

Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, forgiveness and mercy purify the world. - Nuren ...

Forgiveness

I have sometimes seen my ability to forgive as a "secret weapon," although I don't really like to use the word "weapon" and it should not be a secret. Forgiveness protects me from a negative downward spiral of self-pity. It keeps me from condemning others and condemning myself. I have found forgiveness to be a continual process and attitude, not a single act. Forgiveness is implied in the greatest commandment, to love God and others. Forgiveness purifies the world. I cannot recommend it enough. - Alan Steinle
